Precision Nutrient Calculator — Built Around Your Water
Most nutrient calculators assume a specific brand or formula. Ours doesn’t. Once you establish your Base EC, this calculator works with any powdered nutrient — single‑powder or multi‑part. Because liquid nutrients can degrade over time and vary per measurement, we recommend dry powders for consistency and accuracy.
Finish with Root Balance
Add Root Balance to your finished nutrient mix to help buffer pH, improve oxygenation, and keep nutrients evenly suspended longer.
How to Use This Calculator
Establishing Your Base EC
- Top off your reservoir to its normal full volume before testing.
- For single‑powder nutrients: dissolve 1 gram per gallon (or liter) and measure EC.
- For two‑part nutrients: dissolve 1g Part 1 + 1g Part 2 together, then measure EC.
- Enter that measured value as your Base EC.
- Re‑establish Base EC if your water source or filtration changes.
Measuring Current EC
- Always top off your reservoir before measuring Current EC.
- You can test EC using any small sample — 20–30 ml is perfectly fine.
- The volume of the sample does not affect the EC reading.
Bloom Nutrients in Mixed‑Crop Systems
Establish a new Base EC using bloom nutrients and calculate as normal.
Part-1 + Part-2 provide complete nutrition from seedling through harvest for mixed crops. Bloom nutrients increase potassium and phosphorus to support flowering and fruiting.
In mixed systems, bloom nutrients should remain supplemental. Do not reduce Part-1 or Part-2 when adding bloom.
Example:
If your base EC is 2000 µS, add bloom nutrients gradually until EC rises to
2200–2400 µS. Verify EC after mixing.
Concentrate Mixing (Recommended for Home Systems)
- Mix base nutrients (Part-1 + Part-2) in a 1000 ml container.
- Measure EC (example: 1000 µS).
- Add small amounts of bloom nutrients.
- Stop when EC rises by 20–30% (example: 1200–1300 µS).
- Pour the finished concentrate into your topped‑off reservoir.
