How to Adjust Your VPD

To maintain optimal VPD levels for your indoor grow, focusing on humidity control is the most practical method. If you keep your home temperature around 68°F, this helps your grow area stay below 76°F, and you can easily adjust humidity with a humidifier.

For homes kept warmer, around 75°F, it’s even more important to monitor and control humidity. Here’s how you can manage it:

  • Humidifier: Increase the humidity to match your VPD target, as higher temperatures will often require higher humidity to maintain the right balance.

  • Dehumidifier: If your space becomes too humid, a dehumidifier can help bring it down to the desired level.

  • Air Conditioning: While controlling temperature, ensure proper airflow and circulation to prevent hot spots.

  • Fans: Use fans to improve air circulation and help distribute the temperature and humidity evenly throughout the grow area.

By monitoring and adjusting the humidity with a humidifier or dehumidifier, you can maintain the optimal environment for your plants, even in warmer home conditions. Consistent checks and tweaks will keep your VPD within the desired range, ensuring healthy plant growth.
